Ch-ch-ch-changes...
So, I'm joining the multitudes of folks who cop out -- er, I mean, folks who have style and class -- and make their journals all pretty with CSS. Ignoring the fact that there's credit in the sidebar, I'm gonna shout out again to =
blissart for making the only (free to use) journal mod that I could tolerate.

Dropping TROU: Prelude
First thing's first: I hate numbering my thoughts, because it makes me feel like I'm making some "more important" by giving them "better" numbers, and vice versa. So, there will be no first thing, second thing, or third thing, et cetera. Except for this, since a confession of irrational hatred toward an abstract concept should always come first.

The TROU Comes Down...
I'm being lazy; I know it. But still, it's hard not to do. I haven't spoken to Jackson about I/D in a couple of days, and I'm itching to get back to my beloved comic, but just don't have the drive to actually do it or much of anything else. I've been sitting on the next chapter of WISHS, but for some reason I don't quite feel it's as good as it could or should be, so I'm waiting for that mythical burst of inspiration that only ever seems to come "some day" (i.e. the day after never). Maybe I should just throw it up in the gallery and come what may, but sitll, I feel like I'd be depriving my (two) loyal readers. So, I don't know what to do.
However! there is a silver lining to this dark cloud! I've been in talks with an upstart film director looking for a movie to make his name with, and it looks like we may be making our names together. Can you imagine me as a famous screenwriter? I can't, but I'm willing to give it a go!
There's a short story I wrote back in high school that, even before I found this guy, I've been tinkering with the idea of converting to a screenplay. Mostly just for shits and giggles, so I could say, "Yeah, I wrote a screenplay," but I think it's a solid concept that could handle its own on screen, given minimal tinkering and a lot of filling out. I'll post the story and edit in a link when I can, 'cause I need you guys to tell me what you think!
As for other things ... well, between WISHS, I-D: Shadow/song, and [untitled potential film project], not to mention slinging coffee and spending time with my partner, I should have my plate full, right? And yet, I have a hankering for something else I can't quite put my finger on ... not that
that surprises me much -- I mean, there's so many things I've left unfinished, I can scarcely be sure which one my subconscious is telling me to attend to. Though, I have a funny feeling it might be
Touched, since I'm kind of in the mood for a wistful romance after finally getting around to watching
I Am Legend last night. Funny thing, that, hey?
The Other Side (of the page)
Or maybe I need to read more. I spent every hour of March, April, and early May with a book in my hands; but after finishing the Twilight Series (thus far), I had nothing to read ... I went back and read The Catcher in the Rye (for the fifth time?), because (a) I love that novel and (b) I had nothing else to read. But now, I'm even more stuck.
I want to tackle my ever-growing stack of devwatches, but whenever I get time to sit down at a computer, I have to (a) check my e-mail, (b) reply to said e-mails, (c) check my Facebook, because people don't like writing e-mails, (d) check my online D&D games for new posts (and reply to them), (e) check up on deviantART for new non-deviation messages, and (f) look at my gallery and berate myself over how unproductive I am. By the time I have this finished, I'm usually either late for work or late for bed, neither of which are fun. So, good times ... but!
I'm not going to let that stop me from now on. Even if I have to micromanage my time, take sleeping pills so I don't dick around in some insomnia-like trance until four in the morning, and save up to buy a printer so I can take stuff on the bus with me, I'm going to commit myself to reading three pieces a week. I know that once I actually get started, I'll find time to read a lot more than that, but this is my initial commitment -- in fact, I'm going to have to read a
lot more than that, since there's a
lot more than three full chapters being posted every week, between all the novelists I'm watching. Jeez, you guys, have some consideration!

For Its Own Sake
Yeah, that's right, I'm just having fun playing with my CSS now. But, why the hell not? You only live once, and you should spend every moment you can amusing yourself with strings of code you're way too lazy to learn for yourself.

I Really Will Read These...
...some day.
